This article includes this introduction to the prayers printed beginning on page 23 of the original book. The final prayer in the book is entitled Thursday Morning. Please take the time to read Washington’s prayers and remember the historical context in which they were prayed. The contrite heart and genuine reverence for the Father and Jesus permeate these texts and we’d do well to use them as a pattern for our own prayer life.  Read more...
