Our troubles today are nothing new. Immorality, greed, violence, discord and the rest of it are a result of the sin nature of mankind and will be wrestled with until Jesus comes again. In the meantime, let’s take a page from the Psalms and use it to pray our desire for our nation’s renewal to faith. For me this prayer is completely up-to-date and speaks perfectly to the desires of my heart — how about yours?

Father, we come before you now in prayer for our nation. We realize how far from you we’ve grown since you formed us together into a single nation over two centuries ago. We ask for your forgiveness for that drifting away. We ask that you draw us near to you again as a nation and a people. |
