In this time of uncertainty in world events we have great concern for our military personnel around the world, especially with the conflicts in the Middle East. War is almost as old as mankind and has been written about throughout the ages. Asking God for protection was something that David felt the need for during much of his life, and from his conflicts came many prayers about the hazards of military action. Psalm 3 is one of those and serves well as a kind of assurance in these dangerous times.

Father we pray today for the victims of domestic violence in this nation. We know that you know who and where they are and we ask that you protect the abused among us. Protect them, o Lord, and let them know that your protective hand is upon them. Let the realization that you are with them in their difficulties bring them closer to you. As observers make us aware of how we can provide the hands, feet and heart to do your will as we seek your guidance. |
