A Psalm of Protection

In this time of uncertainty in world events we have great concern for our military personnel around the world, especially with the conflicts in the Middle East. War is almost as old as mankind and has been written about throughout the ages. Asking God for protection was something that David felt the need for during much of his life, and from his conflicts came many prayers about the hazards of military action. Psalm 3 is one of those and serves well as a kind of assurance in these dangerous times.

Here Psalm 3 is presented as a prayer for our soldiers in harm’s way, and our nation in uncertain times as terrorists continue to wreak havoc in so many areas of the world, especially Afghanistan and still some areas of Iraq. We continue to watch and pray as rogue nations gear up against the forces of freedom. This prayer of David is as up-to-date as any we could compose today.
